Rand was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq. He met the Lord in 1994 while he was a student at dental school and graduated as a dentist from the University of Baghdad in 1999.
Rand left Iraq in 1999 and married the love of his life, Enas, in 2000 in Amman, Jordan. They then moved to Qatar in 2002 where they began to be involved in discipleship and ministry in a local church. Their first child, Lana was born while in Qatar in 2004.
The Luka family moved to Mississauga, Canada as skilled worker immigrants in 2008 and became founding members of an Arabic church in Etobicoke. They had their second child, Matthew, while living in Mississauga.
In 2011, Rand and his family moved to London after being accepted by Western University to finish an equivalency program in dentistry to practice in Canada and graduated in 2013.
In 2012, they started attending WLA and began a home-based, Arabic Bible study. Over the years, the Lord has added to their numbers mightily and the group has grown to become the Arabic Fellowship. Rand was licensed as a lay pastor to lead the Arabic ministry in April 2019.
Since 2013, Rand has been working as a full-time dentist and serving God’s people at West London Alliance Church. When he is not working or serving at church, the whole family enjoys the Middle Eastern tradition of hosting multiple family gatherings around good food and people. He also enjoys music and likes to watch and play soccer when given the chance.
