Jude St. John serves as West London's Lead Pastor. Born and raised in London, he came to know Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour in 1984. Jude is happily married to his wife Nicole and has been since 1995. Jude and Nicole have five beautiful children: Ena, Mara, Adele, Judah, and Arwen.
In 1995, Jude graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a degree in Physical Education and in 1996 he graduated from Althouse College with a degree in Education. In the summer between earning those degrees, Jude began a 14 year career playing professional football.
Jude played football professionally in the Canadian Football League from 1995-2008. Following his final year playing for the University of Western Ontario Mustangs, Jude was drafted by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the CFL. After three years in Canada's "Steeltown", Jude signed with the Toronto Argonauts. Jude played for North America's oldest professional sports team from 1998-2008 and finished his career there. The highlight of his professional career was the Grey Cup Championship of 2004.
Starting in the late 90s, Jude also worked for the Thames Valley District School Board for 10 years as a substitute teacher and began teaching full-time in September 2009 after his football career came to an end. In 2013, Jude reduced his teaching load to part-time in order to pursue his ordination at West London Alliance Church in their pastoral apprenticeship program.
Jude’s appetite for theology and preaching began while still playing football. He is a diligent reader who has been influenced by some of Christianity’s long legacy of teachers, both living and dead, which include Jonathan Edwards, John Piper, John Owen, Wayne Grudem, and many more.
Nicole, who stayed at home with the children when they were young, is currently working as an OR nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital in London. Nicole and Jude, when not at work, have very full schedules helping their 5 children pursue vigorous extra-curricular schedules.
Jude enjoys many outdoor pursuits, but he is especially fond of hunting and fishing. He also enjoys playing hockey whenever he can get on the ice. He is a “coffee snob” who roasts his own coffee and enjoys drinking coffee with friends and family
