Hey everyone! This is Pastor Jude and this is the first time I have ever put together a worship set. Dave was supposed to be leading worship this Sunday, but we decided we would let him focus on getting the team back from Peru. Be warned, I have no idea how these songs fit together musically; that is a realm way beyond any expertise I have.

I was listening to a lecture by one of my favourite theologians—Wayne Grudem—and in that lecture on God’s providence he quoted Ephesians 1:11 which reads, “In him [Christ] we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will” (ESV).

In these days of weirdness when we find ourselves doing all kinds of things we never imagined we would for the sake of the health of our neighbours, many of us find ourselves now having to consider what it looks like to educate our kids at home. As a homeschool mom who has attempted to do this for some 16 years now, I would like to dispel some myths, relieve some anxieties, and set some priorities for moms and dads who are wading into these waters for the first time.

In times of difficulty, it’s helpful to remind ourselves that our Creator and Sustainer always has designs on our circumstances. What seems to simply befall us is never outside his foreknowledge, infinite wisdom, and sovereign control; that’s a hope-giving thought.

Bi-annually, we send a group of grade 11 and 12 high-school students to Peru to experience a short-term mission trip. The opportunity for these students to be able to be serve, learn and experience a new culture is priceless.
